The Future of Medicine, Genetics, and Genomics: Stakes and Risks

This paper seeks to investigate the ways of using modern technologies in biomedicine, the stakes involved and possible future risks. It also presents the controversy surrounding the advantages of keeping up with technological developments in medicine on the one hand, and the risks involved in case of their negative usage on the other hand. Thus, we delineate the features of biotechnological revolution starting from the study of research in human genomics and genetics in terms of concepts, history, and purposes. Then, we study the contribution of the scientific research and medical discoveries to creating new forms of live and facing the challenges of the futures. Finally, we investigate the drawbacks of using modern therapy techniques, and show their social and ethical risks and the suitable ways of their usage to keep up with contemporary scientific revolution and future developments.
