​This paper includes a review and qualitative analysis of the future vision Oman 2020, and the lessons to be learned from the successes achieved and the shortcomings in implementation. This is in order to formulate a new vision appropriate to local and global developments that have occurred and future events in the coming period, citing previous research and studies in the relevant literature. The paper is divided into two main parts: the first looks at the goals set for the vision and the level of success in meeting them; the second deals with the lessons learnt from aspects of failure to enable the formulation of a new vision that conforms with the new local and global facts.
