Volume 8|Issue 8| Dec 2023 |Research Papers

Abstract

This paper aims to monitor the manifestations of the impact of climate change on environmental movements in Arab countries, with reference to the Moroccan and Tunisian experiences, and to measure the effectiveness of the work of civil activism and its ability to interact positively with the pressures and risks of this impact, now and in the future. Aware of the different levels of residual environmental and climate problems, and the demographic and socio-economic idiosyncrasies within each country, this paper examines the social-ecological movements that aspire to bring about the desired cultural and political change in light of growing climate fluctuations, and the resulting infringement on the rights of current and future generations. The study concludes about the impact of climate change on stimulating civil activism, and its increasing role in sensitizing and raising awareness of the importance of enhancing the ability to adapt and resist.
