On the Israeli Plans for the Future of Gaza

Volume 4-|Issue 4| Mar 2020 |Research Papers

Abstract

This study describes the Israeli visions for the future of the Gaza Strip, in particularly the Israeli political and military establishment and its future plans for the burden that the Gaza Strip presents for Israel in spite of its withdrawal in 2005. It highlights that Israel both politically and militarily has no other 100% likely option to solve the Gaza dilemma, despite the great mental effort exerted to find the best and perhaps least costly (or least damaging) solution. The study concludes that the future options available are as likely to fail or succeed, and events on the borders of Gaza are likely to result in the adoption of one or the other given the security threat posed by ongoing tensions between Hamas and Israel.
